The Liberal Democrat Group on Sheffield City Council

Sheffield Liberal Democrats

After a great campaign and result for the Liberal Democrats in Sheffield's local elections we are now getting on with the job of delivering on the agenda backed by local people. There will be action to cut crime through more uniformed officers on the beat. Green action including extra recycling opportunities and protecting our parks. Cleaner Streets through giving local people control over street cleaning budgets. A fair deal through bringing Labour's 'favoured areas' policy to an end. We will also deliver better value local services for your Council Tax.

Over the coming months and years I will be working towards improving your local Council so that everyone in Sheffield can see the benefit. We really are committed to making sure Sheffield is a place where everyone matters.

Councillor Paul Scriven, Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Sheffield City Council.

Decision making about some local services is moving away from the Town Hall to local people. Communities are to be given control of £50,000 currently allocated to their area and will be able to prioritise what it is spent on. They will make decisions about how much of the £50,000 is allocated between parks, libraries, and street cleaning, and how it will be spent via their local area panel.
